SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Exam Syllabus :

SSC Stenographer Eaxam Syllabus : Full Syllabus details of SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’. The Staff Selection Commission will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India.

The Examination Consist of Two Stages:

  • Computer Based Examination
  • Skill Test in Stenography

»Computer Based Examination:

  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • The exam will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions only.

General Intelligence & Reasoning:

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, Space Visualization, arithmetic number series, Verbal and Figure Classification, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.

General Awareness:

Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society and knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects. The test will also include questions relating to India and its Neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, Geography, History, Economic scene, Culture, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc.

English Language and Comprehension

Question will be Based on understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/ her writing ability etc.

»Skill Test in Stenography:

The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 word per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer. The transcription time is as follows:

»Important Points:

  1. The candidates who are shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography.
  2. Candidates who opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment.
