Syllabus For RRB NTPC Exam : Full Syllabus details of RRB NTPC (Non Technical Popular Categories) Examination for the posts of Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice, Station Master. The Syllabus details are given below.

The Examination will be conducted in four Stages:

  • 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
  • 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2)
  • Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
  • Typing Skill Test (TST)

Syllabus for 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1)

  • The exam duration is 90 minutes. The CBT-1 is of screening nature. There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer. The exam will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions only.

Mathematics:

Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio and Proportions, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Mensuration, Elementary Statistics.

General Intelligence:

Analogies, Coding and Decoding, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Puzzle,  Syllogism, Venn Diagrams, Jumbling, Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs.

General Awareness:

History, Polity, Geography, Economics, Static General Knowledge, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Basic Computer knowledge, Environment, Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India.

Syllabus for 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2)

  • The exam duration is 90 minutes. The CBT-2 Scoring in nature. There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer. The exam will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions only.

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

  • Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master.
  • Qualifying marks: The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.
  • The CBAT shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
  • There shall be no negative marking in CBAT.

The SM/TA merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

  • Typing Skill Test (TST) of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit).
  • TT(Typing test) will be conduct for the posts Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper.
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi.

Important Points –

  1. Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies of Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) for each of the communities shall be short listed for CBAT based on their performance in 2nd Stage CBT from among the candidates who have opted for the post of SM/TA.
  2. Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies for each of the community will be called for Skill Test.
